Welcome!
Hello, I’m Erin Michaud, and I’m delighted to extend a warm welcome to you. This website is the product of my dedication to supporting families with children in need of early intervention. As a committed advocate for children’s well-being, I’ve created this platform to provide resources and guidance tailored specifically to your family’s needs.
Navigating the journey of early intervention can be overwhelming. Whether you’re seeking advice, information, or support, you’ll find it here. From developmental milestones to practical strategies, I’m dedicated to empowering you every step of the way.
My Training
I earned my bachelor’s degree in communication disorders and then completed a master’s degree program in speech-language pathology. After graduating, I was fortunate to be hired as a speech-language pathologist at a world-renowned school for children with autism that provides services based on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). This was my first exposure to ABA, and I witnessed how effective these teaching methods were at promoting overall development.
To better serve my students, I completed the specialized coursework needed to become a BCBA. I pursued further studies and earned a PhD in behavioral analysis, specializing in naturalistic treatment strategies. Drawing from my background in speech-language pathology and behavior analysis, I’ve developed a comprehensive approach aimed at nurturing the holistic development of children through naturalistic strategies.
Supporting Your Child’s Developmental Journey
Drawing on my multidisciplinary background, I equip parents with the knowledge to help their young children reach their full potential. Working closely with families in their homes has helped me appreciate the vital role parents play as part of the child’s intervention team. Since most early intervention takes place at home, educating parents has become integral to my treatment approach.
Helping Parents Support Their Child’s Development
Often, parents are unsure about where to turn for support regarding their child’s development. My goal is to provide parents with the knowledge they need for the following concerns:
- You may be curious about your child’s development
- You may not know where to start in seeking treatment
- Your child may be on a waitlist for treatment
- Your child may not be getting an adequate amount of treatment
- You may want suggestions for parent-implemented treatment
If you are interested in working together or are curious about how to best help your child, I offer a 30-minute consultation, as well as custom consultations based on you and your child’s need. You can learn about both here.
